More About Me

Meet Jorge Gustavo

"Feels like home to me" goes the song by Randy Newman, and it's how I want you to feel when I help you with one of the most important choices you will ever make. Originally from Brazil, I have lived in six major cities, and have been able to explore a variety of cultures and ways of living. I'm naturally adept at helping people through all the phases of relocating to a new city. Ultimately, I have found my own home in the Pacific Northwest. The nature, architecture, and diversity of this region make me certain that this is where I am meant to be.

Born into a family that runs an independent business, I absorbed the values of this tradition and went on to establish a business of my own, which I ran for 12 years – first in the south of Brazil and then in the Bay Area. Overall, I have 25+ years of sales and customer experience that have enabled me to develop confidence and expertise in evaluating the marketplace and market-driven behavior. My background in civil, commercial, and administrative law has sharpened my critical thinking skills and given me the savvy to navigate bureaucracy of all types. These skills are critical in today's hyper-competitive real estate market. They are essential to knowing how to distill what can often be an overwhelming search process into the most important questions. With these, we can then together focus on finding the answers that work best for you.

One of my businesses was in customized event planning. My success required an eagle eye for details as well as an analytical ability to map out different potential outcomes – missing the smallest nuance could spell disaster. These are skills I bring to represent you in the real estate industry. In the heat of the moment, too many things can be overlooked, but I will be your best advocate and guardian, so that we can work as a team. I will guide you as we together find the place where you will genuinely feel at home.

Some of my other passions include gastronomy, music, and design. I love cooking and treat it as an art. Classical music and opera are some of my favorite ways to renew and recharge. My passion for visual arts and interior design keeps me constantly updated on styles and trends and new possibilities for how to use spaces and decorations. I'm also incredibly fond of pets! And finally, I have found volunteering to be a way to give back a little for the good things life has blessed me with, focusing on kids and the elderly. I have participated in various non-profits and recently engaged with Mary's Place for people experiencing homelessness and Reach – a charitable organization helping children with HIV and their families.

I am rooted in the values I grew up with in my native country, which means above all family, friendship, honesty, trust, loyalty, and the warmth of Brazilians. I prefer to treat my clients in the same way, not as a business, but as I relate to my family and friends. I've always been someone people naturally feel drawn to confide in, to ask for advice, to trust. What I get in return is a sense of fulfillment at helping others see something that perhaps they wouldn't have seen by themselves. Buying or selling a home requires an unbreakable bond of trust and the ability to listen closely – to offer a perspective that will put everything in place and make sense of it all. Let me help you find the place that feels like home to you.
